VSM Solo Movement : The Tranky Doo

December 5 @ 7:30 pm - December 12 @ 8:30 pm

You have asked for it and now we got it!

The Tranky Doo routine (also known as the Trunkey Doo) is a jazz choreography by Pepsi Bethel. It was origionaly danced to the song “Tuxedo Junction” but is now often danced to the “Dipsy Doodle”. If that song is played at Swing events it is common that dancers will start dancing the routine.

Join is for our two-week series to lean one of Lindy Hop’s iconic solo dance routines!

Lindy hop was a dance born of the Jazz Era and was named after the aviator Charles Lindburg. Originally found in the Savoy Ballrom in 1930s Harlem, NY, lindy hop has became a dance craze that touches every corner of the globe. Even today, lindy hop thrives everywhere from Taiwan to Tulsa to Tel Aviv! Its roots as a street dance make lindy hop an accessible, entertaining challenge for people of all walks of life. This dance has the power to foster creativity, burn calories, and create community all at once!
